Goodwill Industries of Acadiana offers community computer classes at our Kaliste Saloom location (1225 Kaliste Saloom) on Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Each student has his or her own computer. Payment is expected on the first night of class unless prior arrangements are made.
Keyboarding
This is a self-lead instruction for those who wish to improve their keyboarding skills using the software, Mavis Beacon. Classes are limited to five (5) students and the cost is $5. Keyboarding runs for five weeks (10 hours) concurrently with the other computer classes. No prior experience is required.
Introduction to Computers - Windows Basics
Ten hours of hands-on computer instruction including general information about PC (personal computer) hardware, basics of Windows 98, the Internet and electronic e-mail. Classes are limited to nine students. The cost for the class is $10. Students may keep the booklet used in class. No prior experience is required.
Microsoft Classes
Ten hours of introductory classes in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. The cost for the class is $40, and enrollment is limited to six. Some previous computer experience is required.
