Job Connection Programs
Goodwill Industries of Acadiana's Job Connection, which was established in 1990, is an information and referral program. It is a gateway to services for persons in search of employment and resources. The services provided under the umbrella of Job Connection help individuals overcome multiple barriers to securing and retaining employment. These services are offered at no charge to anyone seeking employment.
Our Programs Include:
Adult Education Program
Goodwill is an adult education training site providing free HiSET preparation classes to residents of Acadiana who wish to finish their high school education. Our classes and instruction are informal, well-organized and conducted by experienced teachers. There are designated dates throughout the year when students can begin classes and they may attend for as long as necessary to meet their educational needs.
Goodwill provides individuals with the opportunity to satisfy their court appointed community service hours in our Donation Centers. The clients also receive support and guidance from trained staff to ensure they do not become repeat offenders.
Goodwill helps individuals who have experienced a fire, homelessness, or both. Individuals falling within these two categories must get a referral from an outside agency in order to receive a voucher from Goodwill. The voucher can be used at any Goodwill Industries of Acadiana retail location. Individuals can use the voucher to purchase essential items only (clothing, furniture and household items).
Employment Services has been in existence since 1990 and provides work readiness and placement services to unemployed and under-employed individuals. These services are offered at no charge and to anyone seeking employment. Appointments are allowed, but not necessary. The services are available Monday—Thursday when the Job Connection Center is open.

Supported Employment Program
Supported Employment is a program that assists individuals with disabilities in finding competitive employment. We continue to work with the individual in an integrated setting with ongoing support services. These individuals have had obstacles to employment, where competitive employment has been interrupted, or intermittent, because of their disability. Due to the nature of their disabilities, we provide intensive and extended employment services. Goodwill’s Supported Employment program allows those with disabilities the means to be proud contributing members of society.
