Work Readiness Program Goodwill's Work Readiness Program (WRP) is designed to identify and address an individual's barriers to success. Course objectives are to increase work awareness and positive work habits and attitudes that assist the participant in demonstrating and understanding the world of work and employer expectations. Crisis Assistance Goodwill donates thousands of dollars in merchandise to hundreds of individuals in crisis who are participating in a Goodwill or affiliated program. During hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Goodwill partnered with Acadiana Outreach and opened a relief center which served over 8,000 people, giving away over 300,000 pieces of donated clothing and household items. GED Preparation If you've been thinking about getting your GED, but didn't feel prepared, Goodwill can help. Our instructors are ready to assist you in jumping the hurdles that have been in your way. Our classes and instruction are informal, well-organized, and conducted by experienced teachers. The instructors do not give grades; they simply help you prepare for the GED test. You must be at least 18 years old to take the GED test. However, there are certain conditions under which you might qualify if you are 17. There are designated dates throughout the year when you can begin classes and you may attend for as long as necessary to meet your educational needs. Join us at Goodwill's Job Connection Headquarters on Kaliste Saloom Road and take that first step toward improving your future!
